A PLAIN TIGER BUTTERFLY This is image of Plain tiger butterfly taken by me....(with Cannon powershot,SX400IS ) at the Butterfly garden of Eco tourism park,kolkata,India People having interest on Butterfly must come once here to check out the nursery. If it be the season winter you can also experience the convertion of butterflies pupa to a adult on just on your hand.But t he plain tiger breeds throughout the year in India, except in the Himalayas where it is seasonal. It is a wingspan view(7-8 cm) of this butterfly. I am very happy to take such a shot after very long time. Its is a male one with bright orange colour though females are look similar to the male one but less brightly coloured. The body is black with many white spots. The abdomen is yellowish . The wings are tawny the upper side being brighter and richer than the underside. Upper side: forewing tawny-red, paler over the dorsal area.
